Private Reels (from accounts you don't follow) cannot be fetched — Instagram restricts access. Only public content is supported.

A Reel is one MP4 with the audio baked in, so what you download plays exactly as it did in the app — music, voiceover and any captions burned into the video travel with it.

Text added as an Instagram sticker or caption layer is part of the rendered video too. No tool can separate those back out afterwards, because Instagram stores the flattened file.

Quality follows the upload. Instagram re-encodes what creators post, so a recent Reel usually comes back at 1080p, and an older or heavily compressed upload comes back as it was stored.

The account is private. Instagram serves those Reels only to signed-in followers, so no downloader can reach them — ClipSave never asks for your Instagram login and cannot work around it.

The Reel was deleted or archived after the link was shared, which returns nothing.

The link points at a profile or a Story rather than a Reel. Check that the address contains /reel/ or /p/.

If a fetch fails, copy the link again from the share menu: addresses copied from a browser bar sometimes carry tracking parameters that confuse resolution.
