Facebook Photo Downloader

ClipSave's Facebook resolver returns video: ordinary posts, Watch videos and Reels. It does not return photos, so a photo link pasted into our downloader will not produce an image.

Saying that plainly is better than letting you try and get an error.

For photos, the browser already gives you everything you need, and the method below takes about ten seconds.

Open the photo so it fills the lightbox — the dark overlay view, not the small version in the feed. Facebook loads a larger file at that point.

Right-click the image and choose Save image as. On a phone, press and hold the photo and choose Download or Save.

If the result looks soft, the photo was probably saved from the feed rather than the lightbox. The feed version is a smaller file, and no amount of upscaling recovers what was never downloaded.

Facebook re-encodes every upload, resizing to its own maximum dimensions and applying JPEG compression tuned for fast loading rather than fidelity. A 12-megapixel phone photo is typically stored at around 2048 pixels on its longest side.

That stored version is the best any method can retrieve, including ours. The photographer's original never reaches the platform's public servers.

Uploading with "high quality" enabled helps a little for your own posts, but the re-encode still happens.

There is no single link that downloads a whole album. Each photo has its own address, and saving a set means repeating the steps above for each one.

Photos in private profiles, closed groups and friends-only posts cannot be retrieved by any tool. Facebook serves them only to a signed-in account with permission, and no downloader has that session.

Test any link in a logged-out private window first: if it does not open there, nothing can fetch it.
