Download Instagram Photos in Full Quality
Instagram compresses images, and there's no built-in download button for posts. ClipSave lets you save photos from any public Instagram post directly to your device in the original quality available through the link.
Paste the post URL (instagram.com/p/...) into ClipSave, click Fetch, and download. Works for single-image posts and video posts — no Instagram account required.
Great for saving reference photos, moodboard images, screenshots of content you want to keep, or archiving your favorite creators' work.
How to Download an Instagram Photo
1. Find the Instagram post with the photo you want to save. 2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) and choose "Copy link." 3. Paste the link into ClipSave above and click Fetch. 4. The image will load — click Download to save it.
Works on iPhone, Android, desktop browsers. No app install, no account.
What Posts Are Supported?
ClipSave supports: • Single-image posts (instagram.com/p/...) • Video posts (treated as video download) • Profile posts from public accounts
Carousel posts work too. Paste the post link and ClipSave lists every slide it can resolve, with a Download all button so you can save the whole set at once rather than one image at a time.
Not supported: posts from private accounts, and Instagram Stories — use our Story Downloader for those.
All content must be publicly accessible. We cannot bypass Instagram's privacy restrictions.
Saving a Whole Carousel at Once
A carousel is a single post holding up to twenty photos and videos. Instagram gives you no way to save them, and saving twenty items by hand is the chore most people abandon halfway.
Paste the post link and ClipSave resolves the slides it can reach, shows them as a strip you can scroll, and offers Download all. Each file saves separately and numbered in order, so the sequence survives.
Mixed carousels — photos and video in the same post — come back as images and MP4s respectively, each in its own file.
Quality, and What Instagram Does to Images
Instagram re-encodes everything on upload. A photo posted from a DSLR is resized and compressed before it reaches any viewer, so what you download is Instagram's version, not the photographer's original.
That is a limit of the platform rather than the downloader: the higher-resolution original is never served to anyone. ClipSave gives you the best copy the post exposes, with no further compression added.
Images arrive as JPEG in most cases, which opens anywhere without conversion.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I download an Instagram photo?
- Copy the post link from the three-dot menu, paste it above and press Fetch. The image appears in the preview and downloads with one tap.
- Can I download all photos in a carousel?
- Yes. Paste the post link and ClipSave lists the slides it can resolve with a Download all button, saving each file separately and numbered in order.
- Will I get the full-resolution original?
- You get the best version Instagram serves. Instagram compresses and resizes every upload, and the original file is never made available to viewers.
- What file format are the images?
- Usually JPEG, which opens on any phone, computer or editor without conversion.
- Can I save photos from a private account?
- No. Instagram restricts that media to signed-in followers and ClipSave does not ask for your credentials.
- Is there a watermark on downloaded photos?
- No. ClipSave adds nothing to the file. A watermark a creator placed in their own image is part of that image.
